Give Those Bros a Beer - Tyler Biggs, Matt Tomassoni and Curtis McKenzie

Freshman forward Tyler Biggs was named Gongshow Gear CCHA Rookie of the Week last week after the hockey team’s sweep of Alaska; some solid momentum for the team going into this weekend’s big series vs. Michigan at home. Check out Gongshow Gear on twitter, @GongshowGear, for quality hockey lifestyle gear and some funny fucking tweets. Throw a follow the Toronto Maple Leafs prospect’s way (although he’s already got 4k superfans hanging on his every word), @Tyler_Biggs. HERE'S the link to the story on CCHA.com. So even though he’s clearly doing just fine in his first year here, give this freshman a beer.
The other bros are growing mustaches for Movember. You've all heard of No Shave November but Movember takes the tradition a step further. Movember is a worldwide movement to raise awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and and other cancers that affect men. You can donate to Matt Tomassoni (@MattDingo27) and Curtis McKenzie's (@MuckBro16) Movember page HERE. So throw them a donation and give those bros a beer (And make sure you get to the Goggin Friday and Saturday for what are guaranteed to be two great games).

Give That Bro a Beer - Travis Snider

Toronto Blue Jays Travis Snider didn't just sulk off after striking out against Yankees pitcher David Robertson. Nah, he went all America...uh, Canada on everyone's asses and broke his bat over his knee. I don't know how many of you ever invested in a wooden bat in your little league days but I did and those bitches are hardcore (literally). Snider's knee couldn't have been feeling too great after that. And the face he made rivaled anything the Hulk and/or WWE could ever produce. Give that bro a beer.

Give Those Bros A Beer - Miami Hockey Senior Class

The Class of 2011
The biggest news coming out of Miami for the past few weeks has been all about the hockey team. More specifically, the bros of the class of 2011. They are the second winningest class in school history with 108 wins. They've been to the Frozen Four once and made an appearance in the national championship game in '08. So who are these guys? Vincent LoVerde (Defenseman), Pat Cannone (Forward), Justin Vaive (Forward), Carter Camper (Forward) and Andy Miele (Forward). Vincent LoVerde was a key member for the d-corps since he notched countless blocked shots. Justin Vaive, standing at 6'6", was a clutch enforcer for our Redhawks and is an absolute beast in front of the net. Pat Cannone adds some serious talent to the class of '11. He was a strong player for Miami coast to coast and not only could he score goals but he could set up his lineys like no other. Now onto to the two-year Hobey Baker candidate and captain Carter Camper. Not only is he from CLE so all those Lebron-hating, Tribe and Browns-commiserating Miami fans love him but he is also one of the most talented skaters to come through MU. He led the Redhawks and the country as he was one of the nation's leaders in goals and points. Hobey Baker finalist, Andy Miele, joined Camper as one of the nation's leaders in goals and points. Miele is currently in St. Paul, Minnesota for the Hobey presentation tonight at the Frozen Four. Without a doubt, Miele should win the Hobey since he not only can thread it up the center like a 5'8" needle but he also just racks up the points every game with his clutch assists. He should win because he's clearly the best player in the nation because he makes his team better with his talent. But let's be honest, you bros already know how good these guys are because you pack the Goggin every home weekend.
But enough about their college careers. What can we expect from them next? Four out of the five seniors are signed with NHL franchises. Justin Vaive was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in 2007 as the 92nd pick overall. Pat Cannone just signed with the Ottawa Senators. Carter Camper recently signed with the Boston Bruins and Andy Miele signed with the Phoenix Coyotes. Big things coming from this senior class. Absolute legends. Give those bros a beer.

P.S. Tune into ESPNU at 7pm to watch the Hobey Baker presentation from St. Paul, Minny

P.P.S. Check out Miele and Camper's Hobey videos. Straight beauticians.

Give That Bro A Beer - Shawn Hunwick

Senior Michigan Goalie Shawn Hunwick
Shawn Hunwick, the netminder for the Michigan Wolverines deserves a natty in hand right now. Why? If you missed the first two games of the Frozen Four, don't worry, we got you. Ok in a not very surprising game, the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs overtook the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In more shocking news, the Michigan Wolverines upset the North Dakota Fighting Sioux. I picked the Sioux to go on to win it all so I'm going to take a hit in the standings in my college hockey tourney pool. How did this upset happen? At one point in the third period the shot count was 31-15 in favor of NoDak. Literally twice as many shots on goal, yet they remained scoreless? Here comes Shawn Hunwick, blocking every shot, every deflection, every rebound, just everything coming his way. He stood on his head for the Wolverines and now they're going to the natty game to face the UMD Bulldogs. Michigan better have held Hunwick on their shoulders during their post-win celly since he held them on his all game. There's no escaping it, this kid is small (standing at 5'7" and weighing in at 166 lbs) but there's no escaping it, he's full of effing talent. It was NoDak versus Hunwick tonight and Hunwick won. Give that bro a beer.
